<dc:subject>General news</dc:subject>

InterMUD is the name given to various communications networks between so called MUDs, This is what wikipedia has to say about it.

On this site you will find information, news and discussions related to the various networks and protocols.

Typically, an InterMUD network offers a number of features:

channels

information about connected muds and their users

tells (private messages) between users on different muds

Additionally, such networks may support exchanging mail, news items and possibly other things.

Initially, InterMUD networks used simple protocols that only supported a small number of services. The IMC2 and Intermud 3 protocols are a fair bit more complex, and allow MUDs to exchange virtually any kind of data and run custom services.

InterMUD networks are often used by MUD creators and builders to discuss ideas and exchange information.
